LHS IB MUN Awards and Accolades
Gar-field HS ♦ Woodbridge, VA IBMARCMUNC
In January of 2009 and of 2010, the Laurel High School, International Baccalaureate, Model United Nations Team, attended the annual IBMARCMUN Conference at Gar-field High School, in Prince William County, Woodbridge, VA. LHS IB MUN delegates were assigned a particular country/committee and they were to debate effectively in parliamentary procedure, on certain issues relevant to that particular committee. Committees included: WHO, HISTORIC NUREMBERG TRIALS, AFRICAN UNION, SOCHUM, SPECPOL, OAS, etc. Awards were given to the following delegates, based on excellent academic performance:
- Verbal Recognition- Turkey Delegation (Christopher Noronha and Saba Mahmood) - WHO
- Honorable Mention- El Salvador (Debbie Barboza) - OAS
