Korean Peninsula Simulation (2008-2009 SY)

Chair: Dennisse Mallari - Russian Federation 

Director(s): Ivana Medrano, Rick Johnson

Purpose: To develop an understanding of the division of the Korean Peninsula and the disputes amongst the bordering countries. To understand the conflict in Korea, in which Korean people desire freedom from foreign interference.

Delegates will: Conduct extesnive research on North Korea, in dealing with the following issues/l North Korea nuclear missile testing, Nortk Korea suffering starvation and famine, North Korea;s ignnorance on U.S aid, Japan shutting down North Korean satellite launcher, North Korea's war warning if satellite's shut down, South Korea's support on planning, and Unification.


Denuclearization of Iran Simulation (2009-2010 SY)

Chair: Charita Nichols - Russian Federation

Director(s): Maury Quijada - Iceland

Purpose: To develop an understanding of missile launching and the denuclearization of the country of Iran, and neighboring countries that are involved.

Delegates will: Conduct extensive research pertaining to the topic.


Middle East Peace Process Simulation (2008-2009 SY)

Purpose: By learning the history of the Jews and Palestinians, you will be able to describe how each side has a valid clam to the Holy Land. Through debate, negotiation, and settlement, you will also be familiar with the challenges of settling this issue that is integral to peace in the Middle East.

Delegates will:  Conduct an Internet search on the history of the Jews and Palestine. They will conduct extensive research on the holy land, and settlement disputes amongst the bordering countries to conduct an effective, and coherent simulation.


North Korea Human Rights Simulation (2009-2010 SY)

Chair: Christopher Noronha - Portugal

Director(s): Catherine Turner - France

Purpose: IB MUN Delegates will develop an understanding of global issue- Human Rights violations in the country of North Korea. Students are to develop a clear and coherent, well thought out personal Position Paper. The Position Paper must contain your full understanding and awareness of the subject of Human Rights.

Delegates will: Conduct an Internet search on the Human Rights violations of the country of North Korea. Clearly identify and note the violations you have found on the internet and its sources. These may be discussed, if possible, write on separate sheet of paper to be used during the Simulation as notes (If needed; It is recommended).
